Information Ontology
AI Thinking: The Information Ontology Proposed by Chinese Philosopher He Xin
As a philosopher with original thinking点金网, He Xin has published multiple well-known philosophical and logical works such as Philosophical Thinking and Neo-Logicist Philosophy. His thoughts and discussions have received in-depth attention and recognition from great scientific philosophers such as Qian Xuesen and Chen-Ning Yang. Qian Xuesen once named the logical set tree proposed by He Xin as \"He Xin's Tree (Historical Concept Set)\".
The following discussions and arguments are summarized from parts of He Xin's philosophical works, as well as his Q&A content and book excerpts shared on Weibo, mainly extracting key points around five propositions: \"universe, learning, faith, information, thinking\":
1. Universe
◦ Core View: The universe is a noumenon containing infinite information. This information constitutes the \"heart\" or \"mind\" of the universe, equivalent to Plato's \"Ideas\" (Idea). It is the noumenon of existing things and the root of the generation of all things.
◦ Explanation: The essence of the universe is information, and information is an inherent attribute of the universe. All things are generated from information.
2. Learning is Recollection
◦ Core View: Learning is the process of copying the \"heart\" (information) of the universe into the human mind, which is the restoration or recollection of the noumenon information (noumenon existing knowledge).
◦ Explanation: Learning is not simply the accumulation of knowledge, but the internalization of the universe's information, and a return to the essence of knowledge.
3. Faith
◦ Core View: Faith is the firmness and persistence of the spirit, a non-rational conceptual activity. Faith is absolutely spiritual and rejects perceptual experience and reasoning.
◦ Explanation: Faith is the adherence to the spiritual world. It is a certain belief that transcends perceptual and rational cognition.
4. Information
◦ Core View: Information is the result of the evolution of the universe and the basis and cause of the development of all things. Information is a spiritual being, a self-subsistent reality without form.
◦ Explanation: Information is the basis and starting point for promoting the development and evolution of all things in the universe. It is both a result and a cause, an eternal, self-subsistent and self-determining entity.
5. Logic and Grammar
◦ Core View: Logic is an algorithm, the rules for organizing and operating information. Logic is the self-organization of information.
◦ Explanation: The symbolization of information is language. The rules for organizing and operating symbols are grammar. Logic is the algorithm of information. Logic is universal grammar, pan-grammar.
6. Thinking
◦ Core View: Thinking is the process of simulating information operations. Evolution and development are movements that lead to the formation of new information.
◦ Explanation: The essence of thinking is the processing and reorganization of information, developing and constructing information clusters. A culture is a collection of a series of information groups.
General Summary:
Information Ontology holds that information is the essence of the universe, learning is the internalization of information, faith is the spiritual personification of information, and thinking is the dynamic organization and processing of information.
The above views reflect He Xin's research, thinking, and profound understanding of information theory.
